SymptomAI: Towards a conversational AI agent for everyday symptom assessment
SymptomAI tests whether follow-up questions can make AI symptom interviews more useful for differential diagnosis—and whether those assessments can support population-scale wearable research.
Why it matters: The results make interview design a key consideration: actively eliciting symptoms outperformed an unprompted LM in this study. Pairing symptom reports with wearable data may support population-scale research, but these findings do not establish clinical deployment efficacy.
