Discovering cryptographic weaknesses with Claude
Claude Mythos Preview found improved attacks on HAWK and reduced-round AES. The results matter for cryptographic review, but neither affects production systems or breaks full AES.
Why it matters: The findings support using capable models as another adversarial reviewer during cryptographic design and standardization, while allowing time for human verification. The article says no production software needs to change because of these attacks.
